Temple Trail:

“A temple is a reminder to the people around the goal of life; it is a guide to greater spiritual endeavour; it is a step towards the Almighty; it is a warning against the vain pursuit after sensual pleasures. They reveal the path by which man can fulfill his destiny, realise the purpose for which he has been endowed with the human body with all its unique treasures of discrimination, imagination, intuition and capacity to keep aloof from material attractions.” – Sri Sathya Sai Baba, on significance of a temple, 30th March 1979.

As part of Sri Sathya Sai Centenary Celebrations, the devotees of Delhi-NCR are organising a ‘Temple Trail’ by conducting Bhajans at the 24 famous temples in Delhi-NCR with high footfall. Swami has made bhajan singing as the single most important Sadhana in the Sri Sathya Sai Mission.

The purpose of the temple is to awaken the Divinity in humanity (Madhavathwa in manavathwa), inducing people to believe that the physical frames in which they live are themselves houses of God. Therefore, all the formalities, rites, and rituals of the temple emphasize and cultivate the spiritual truth (Brahmajnana) that the individual (jivi) is just a mighty ocean of God’ - Dharma Vahini

Swami has always said that the world is His mansion and He moves about in that mansion, in its many rooms. World peace is a means to subserve the peace of the individual. We must not ignore the Lord whose mansion is the world and we must not ignore the world, whose master is the Lord.

As a part of our continuous endeavours to celebrate 100 years of pure love, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR is organising a trail of bhajans across the temples in Delhi-NCR in line with Swami’s teachings on the significance of Temples in upliting of humanity and fostering world peace.

There is water in the depths of the earth. If you wish to fetch that water from the depths, what must you do? Between you and the water, there is the soil as an obstacle. That mud or soil signifies the worldly affairs. All those need to be removed. When the mud is removed, we will certainly get the water that is underneath. Otherwise, if you put a bore-well there, it will dig deeper and deeper and get the waters from the depths to the surface. That is remembering the Lord's name, Namasmarana. On your tongue when you put the bore-well of God's name, the happiness in the heart will surface. Therefore, you must make Lord's name dance on your tongue. Whatever work you may do, you must do it with divine feeling. Work will be transformed into worship. Any work done must be thought of as God's work.
