Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR: Activities
SSSVIP - Indira Camp, South East District
More than economic development or provision of amenities, what is important in the reconstruction of our villages is the raising of the quality of life of the villagers and developing their moral and spiritual values… All are God's children and are equally entitled to the love of the Lord.
- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 16 (1983)
The Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Program (SSSVIP) was initiated at Indira Camp, Okhla in the year 2008. More than 15 years have passed since its inception. With Bhagawan’s blessings, the SSSVIP centre is now flourishing with different activities held in the village.
One of the first activities in the village was the introduction of the Bal Vikas classes. Students, who had passed out from Bal Vikas, are now active members of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR’s Youth wing. Notably, the Seva activities in the village are now led by these young adults.
Gradually, the Bal Vikas classes expanded to include Computer classes to familiarise the children with computers and to enhance digital literacy in the village.
The Vedam classes have commenced for the students who actively take part in chanting.
On festivals and special occasions, Narayana Seva is conducted.
Regular medical Camps are also conducted in the village, including eye check ups, cataract surgeries and women health and hygiene camps.
With Bhagawan’s blessings, the youth from the village have also been part of Prasanthi Seva, with a team of 10 youth taking part in Prasanthi seva in August 2024.
“Towns cannot exist without villages. Villages have to be fostered first. The village is the heart of the town; without it, the town becomes lifeless.”
