Grama Seva – SSSVIP, South West District

Kishangarh Village Seva

For the past 19 years, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR’s South-West district have been offering Seva in the village of Kishangarh. Having begun as a small Seva centre years ago, this is now a bustling centre with a diverse range of Seva activities being offered.

Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Classes in Kishangarh: A Brief Summary

The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR’s, Bal Vikas classes are held regularly in Kishangarh. So far, at least 1000 students have passed from this Bal Vikas centre. Currently, there are 100 students actively taking part in the Bal Vikas classes across three groups. Notably, the Bal Vikas students are enthusiastic, proactive and participating in several Sai activities. Their enthusiasm and active participation is most apparent and inspiring to witness when they also embark on Prasanthi Seva. So far, more than 150 students have participated in the Prasanthi seva, with 40 students taking part in it in the year 2023 alone. The experience of offering seva in the divine abode has left a lasting impression in the hearts of these young Sai Bal-Vikas students, as they continue on their path of self-transformation.

Given that computer literacy is the need of the hour in the village, the Bal Vikas students are taught basic computer concepts and MS Office suite. Students look forward to the computer classes as they are curious and eager to learn more. It is also heartening that the younger Bal Vikas students are being taught Vedam currently.

Weekly Narayana Seva is also offered in the village, as is Annakalasam, whereby currently 25 families are provided food under this program.

There are very young children participating in the spiritual education (bal vikas) programmes. How beautiful are their faces, radiating bliss and devotion! Their love toward Swami is overflowing. They are full of love! Their hearts are pure and will become mature in due course.

As children broaden their horizon of learning and knowledge through Bal Vikas, they gain new and futuristic insights on the way forward as they are guided by Bhagawan’s teachings.

Through round-the-clock, continuous endeavour of Bal Vikas gurus and Seva Dal, the Bal Vikas students are blossoming into confident youngsters, who are able to reflect the strength of character and selfless spirit that is required to take up any task and perform it well. Students perform well in academics. Most importantly, they are growing up as responsible citizens and they have learned through Bal Vikas to be respectful towards their parents.

The Bal Vikas (organisational wing for children's development) is the primary basis of the great movement to restore dharma (righteousness) in the world. The elders are far gone in their ways, and it is difficult to expect change in their habits and attitudes. Children have to be led into good ways of living, into simplicity, humility and discipline.
