Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR: Activities
Amrit Kalash - Sainik Nagar, West District
With Bhagawan’s abundant grace, in 2019, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR’s West District, embarked on seva activities in Sainik Nagar, Matiala.
The Service activities started with the “Amrit kalash (Dry Ration distribution)” seva for 30 families in Sainik Nagar. The inhabitants, mostly rag pickers, were collecting waste from different parts of Dwarka, segregating it, and working towards its disposal. Currently the number of beneficiaries are 55.
On the first Sunday of every month, the “Amrit Kalash” is distributed and includes essential household items including Rice, Pulses, Vegetable oil, Sugar, Salt, Soap.
Taking one more step in integrating Sainik Nagar residents into mainstream society, the Seva Dals of West District initiated Bal Vikas classes in 2013. Children between 5 to 12 years of age began to take part and enjoy the Bal Vikas classes, where they were taught bhajans, shlokas and stories from the Puranas, with emphasis on human values.
Children’s art, activities and games became hugely popular with the children, and they began to look forward to attending their Bal Vikas classes every Sunday. After each class, Prasadam is distributed to the children.
With Bhagawan’s abundant grace, on Avatar Declaration Day, 2024, the bhajans were attended by more than 100 people from the area. With His grace, the love for Swami and His message is ever growing in the hearts of the residents of Sainik Nagar.
To join hands in this noble initiative, reach out to Convener, West District, Sri Pratap Raju (9811333373) or Sevadal in-charge Sri Suresh Kumar (9811665340).
“Love must be manifested as Service, Seva. Seva must take the form of food for the hungry, solace for the forlorn, consolation for the sick and the suffering.”
