With the divine blessings of Swami, the Ghaziabad District of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Delhi-NCR has been undertaking service activities in the region with utmost love and devotion.
Narayana Seva
“When a hungry Nara is served a hearty meal, what is being done is Narayana Seva, for, Nara (man) is only "a form and a name" projected by Maya (human ignorance) on Narayana (God).”
- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 19 (1986)
Regular Narayana Seva is conducted at different locations in the district. On every 2nd Sunday, home cooked meals are lovingly distributed by the Ghaziabad Town Samithi. On every 4th Sunday, Anna Kalash distribution takes place in the Ghaziabad Town Samithi.
Anna Kalash distribution was undertaken in the Shirdi Sai Temple, Chiranjeev Nagar in Ghaziabad on 13th October, Sunday. 100 Anna Kalash comprising wheat flour, rice, dal and some other food items were distributed among the slum dwellers of the area. In addition, biscuits were distributed to about 90 children.
Bhajans
“THE Scriptures lay down Bhajan (group devotional singing), Namasmaran (Remembering God's Name) and Sankeerthan (devotional music) as the Sadhanas (spiritual practices) of this Age. Bhajan is the process of singing your prayers to God, praising His glory and compassion, and pleading that He may fill you with His Grace.”
- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 11 (1972)
Regular Bhajans are conducted across the district on various days of the month.
Bhajans are held on Thursdays in Raj Nagar extension, Sanjay Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Aditya Worlds City, Raj Nagar, Chiranjeev Vihar and Sai Mandir (Modinagar).
In Sahibabad, bhajans are held every Sunday in the residences of devotees or in the Hanumat Dham Mandir.
Online bhajans are also conducted every Monday, allowing devotees from different parts of the district to join in and partake in the blissful devotional singing gathering.
99th Avataran Day Celebrations - Bhaktimaya Sandhya
“Degrees alone do not signify education. Education that is confined to the physical sciences is a travesty of true education. Together with knowledge of the natural sciences, one has to acquire humility, discipline and a good character. Everyone should recognize this sacred character of education.”
- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 23 (1990)
On the 22nd of November, i.e., the ‘99th Avataran Day’, the Ghaziabad District organised the ‘Bhaktimaya Sandhya - Celebration of Divine Education and Love’ in the Parivartan School, Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad.
The program started with the lighting of the lamp followed by Vedam chanting by the trained veda chanters of the district. Next, a garland of soulful bhajans was offered at the lotus feet of Swami by the members of the 5 samithis of the district.
The gathering was also blessed by the august presence of state level office bearers. The State Education Coordinator, Sri Shalabh Mittal, Sri Sandeep Chandnani from Faridabad and the Centenary Celebratikns Coordinator, Sri Sunil Grover were present at the event.
